Die already Blu-ray, die
Apologies to Sony Playstation 3 fan-boyz and galz, or to other Home Theatre Blu-Ray fans, but I wish that the Blu-ray standard would just die, die, die already.
Not that I like supporting Microsoft and other HD-DVD format backers any more than I like Sony but the thought that having bought the HD-DVD add-on for the Xbox 360 was possibly a bad decision is just irritating. Looking over the next few months of releases in both formats it seems that the Blu-ray folks are pumping out quite a few titles while the HD-DVD format lags behind in quantity. Quality wise both are probably close, but quantity wise there's a noticable gap.
I wish Sony had given in and kept themselves from going off to create their own format to begin with. The world didn't need two competiting HiDef DVD type standards. One is most certainly sufficient but Sony deemed their own creation better and they are pushing to make it become the standard. Personally, I hope it dies soon and winds up becoming a standard used for PlayStation video games and nothing else. Let it get left behind already so that we do get one standard that everyone can get behind and support.
