Object Dock not working

Hi there,
I dl'ed last week your latest version of Object Dock [free] and installed it [WinXP Pro, 2.4G, 768 Ram, All-in-Wonder ATI]. Everything was running fine. I especially like the bouncing icons when you pass over them. I have set the background to transparent.
All of a sudden, last night, any time you use any icon, it expands then freezes. The other icons still zoom when you hover; however, if you use any, it also zooms, turn black, then freezes. Closing and restarting the prg repeats the same thing.
After reading thru various posts in this forum, I have tried removing the zoom effect, the bouncy effect, changed the background to solid from transparent, deleted the stardock folder in documents and settings, everytime closing down the prg and restarting it to no effect. You click on an icon, it activates what it represents then it freezes. Thnx in advance.

did you clear the cache?

if you haven't done that and need some guidance - Corky O has a 'Clearing the Cache 101" tutorial at his Dream Under Construction site.

Remove any docklets and see if you still have issues. If not, add them back one at a time until you find the culprit. If so, you may have a conflict with some other program that's running.

I tried everything you suggested: Cleared the cache and restarted the prg again where it even started at the top of the screen and the weather icon showed the default location instead of mine. When I clicked on the configuration icon to choose to place the dock at the bottom left, the icon expanded and froze in black [the config. option started, though], the dock moved where I chose but the frozen black config icon remained at the top center. Since installation, the only changes I made were for the position, the transparecy of background and modified "Word" for "WordPad". Icons of running prg's show on the dock and the taskbar. Click on any icon in the dock >> enlarge in black + freeze! Others still alive. Click on a second icon >> same negative effect. I don't think there is a conflict since dock worked fine with no problem since last Thrusday.

hmmm... grasping at straws here...

are you running any other type of 'altering' software? glass2k, 3dna, anything at all?

I was thinking along that line, too. Yes, I am running glass2k because it was suggested on Windowsxlive to try it if you intend to install the Vista Transformation Pack 6 later on. I am going to reinstall object dock after I stop glass2k from loading.

Are you aware of any conflict betwen these 2 prg's?

Bichur,
You got it. I stopped Glass2k thru the task manager. Reinstalled object dock and watched very carefully as I clicked on an icon. The icon zooms, turns black for a second, keeps flashing, and then returns to its previous size. Therefore, yes, Object Dock goes crazy if you are running Glass2K. For that matter, this woud probably be repeated with any other "altering software".

Now for a shot in the dark. Would you happen to have any suggestions as to which setting of Object Dock would eliminate or at least reduce the conflict? Thnx in advance.

P.S. After further testing, I may have found an answer to my question: Object Dock does not seem to have any problem if it loads first then you load Glass2K. This AM glass2k was loading first. Just the same, your comments would be appreciated.

Seems like it's always either that or a Docklet. Glad you figured it out.

shot in the dark - the setting that says I need all my ram (as opposed to the setting that says I paid for my ram and want to use it) OR the acceleration settings

I'm at work and don't get to play with any toys, so I can't open one up to look.

not specifically off hand, but I seem to recall 1 or 2 posts along those lines - that and possibly conflicting with WB a while back (or maybe it was the skins with transparency buttons)
