DA 1.50.090 Game freezes in foreign policies window

I get this annoying bug every time I open the foreign policies-window, have the stats-tab open and cycle through the statistics of the foreign races via the race-icon-tabs which are located at the bottom of the screen.
Thing is although I have SmartException installed, the game completely freezes as soon as the bug occurs which requires me to reset my system and SmartException doesn't create a debug-report as far as I can tell.
Hopefully somebody at Stardock can give me hint about how to report that bug properly.
My system stats:
Intel Centrino Duo T2250 @ 1,73 GHz, 1GB RAM
Operating System : Windows XP Service Pack 2 - (2600.xpsp.050928-1517)
Video Card : NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300, Forceware 84.68
Sound Card : Realtek HD Audio output
DirectX version : 4.09.00.0904
