Espionage system weakness ?

Hi,

I realized something so far with the espionage system in DL. Two things in fact. Without any espionage spending, I :
- Know the technologies my opponents have just by speaking to them;
- Know where my opponents are at the beginning of the game just by looking at the mini-map (and who they are if I used random);

No big deal, just noticed it. If there is ever a multi-player expansion, those two facts should be addressed because it can alter strategy a lot.

You can disable this in the galaxy setup screen when you start a game. Just tick the box marked 'blind exploration'.

I believe that if you disable tech trading, then you won't see their techs. I am quite a trader myself, and have never disabled, so before you take my word, better wait until someone comes along and confirms.

Here's an idea to correct the tech trade issue. You select a tech you want to trade and the AI proposes a tech it has that it will trade with you. You only see the techs it shows you, not all it has.

Could be nice to let the AI know which kind of tech would be interesting, in order for him to propose something wanted.

And thanks Mistralok for your answer ! I will surely activate this option for my next game !

Or have categorys of techs and offer something and ask if they have a, for example, a weapon tech that they think is worth the trade for you.
