when are pre-order purchases charged?

When the game is released, or when the purchase is made?

I already bought the pre-order, but now I'm in financial hell and am really tight on money. So if I can cancel my pre-order... either getting my money back (if I've already been charged, not sure) or not having to pay it when it's released (if I haven't been charged, again, not sure).

If you had access to the beta, you would have been charged immediately or when the beta began (whichever was first). Otherwise you probably won't be charged until at/near release.

In any case, sales@stardock.com is the address to contact if you want to cancel your preorder.

So if you pre-ordered 5 days after the beta started, then the charge was applied 5 days in the past? Do you use pre-cogs or a time-machine?

When the beta was open, people were charged immediately and granted access. Anyone ordering after it closed shouldn't be charged until release.
