Is the skinbrowser supposed to take 30min at 100% CPU usage to process skin sites updates?

don't know about the cpu usage, but it could take 30 minutes depending on your connection and how often you update.

I update several times a week and have a 6 Mbps connection.

Hmm, I've been using skinbrowser at least 3 years and it's always taken that long. It's done this on the last three computers I've had, the only common factor is XP pro and pretty much the same programs.

I've tried shutting down everything using msconfig but no change. For years I've been just opening SB before I leave or go to bed.

Ah well maybe it will work ok with Vista.

Bear in mind, mine is an uneducated guess at best. I have rural dialup (one step up from a party line). The last time I used the skin browser, I went to bed after it started - don't know if it every finished since I lost my connection during the night.
