Latin, Hispanic, and Mexican

(author's note: because I don't know either and I am Mexican-American)

The diplomat is Latin
the gardener is Mexican

the evangelical is Hispanic
the Catholic is Mexican

the bon vivant is Latin
the mojado is Mexican

the graduate is Hispanic
the drop-out is Mexican

bilingual is Hispanic
Spanglish is Mexican

El Torito is Hispanic
a panaderia is Mexican
and Taco Bell is garbage.

I totally get what your saying...for some reason the word "Mexican" always seems to be put out there in a more negative light than lets say Puerto Rican, Cuban, Colombian...

Always throwing mud at the clean white folks. Jeeez, when arwe you gonna learn? Outstanding piece. You need to check out Luis Campos--he's the "latin" Bukowski.

Interesting.  I never thought of it that way, but having it pointed out I can see where it has been there all along.

Interesting Buddah. In a way, kinda like Carlin's observations:

Used to be a swamp
Now it's wetlands

Used to be a dumpgound
Now it's a sanitary landfill

etc...

just depends on the perspective I suppose.

Actually, it was more based on Lenny's Jewish and Goyishe bit, but Carlin was influenced by Lenny too.

I just noticed there is a subtle code to what these words mean.

Thanks for the note. - Moskowitz
