Desktop X Crashes

I'm having an issue with Desktop X. I installed it 2 weeks ago and I have beem tying different themes and widgets. I started my computer and Desktop X say's that it did not shut down correctly, may be a fault of a plugin or buggy. I tried both Yes and No and it crashes everytime.

I also uninstalled the program and reinstalled and it still crashes.

Any Suggestions without reformating my drive and reloading everything.

Thanks

Is DX the only thing wrong with the computer? I wouldn't reformat just for that!

Did ya do the install/uninstall through Stardock Central?

Did ya ever see this? WWW Link

I'd try to do these two steps before reformatting. Hell, I only reformat if there is absolutely no other choice!

Go to C:\Documents and Settings\"username"\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock\DesktopX\CurrentTheme and delete everything in the folder then reload DX.

This happens when there is a fatal error in a theme, it won't be able to reload.

What dragonmage said is the likely cause of DX crashing. CorkyO created an article called clearing the cache. In this article CorkyO details all the steps you'll need to find the DesktopX folder and delete it. Here's the WWW Link

That should get DesktopX up and running again.
