Currently ObjectDock does not support showing the system tray icons when on 64 bit Windows.

Hi Bluediablito: We'll be adding SystemTray support back for Vista & 64bit shortly, as in within the next few months. That's the only specific feature that's not available, though, in Vista we recommend running ObjectDock "as administrator" where applicable.

This was posted in January...now it's July. Do we have an updated timeframe for Vista 64-bit support for SysTray and Start Menu functionality? I'm kinda bummed that I paid for ODPlus and cannot use all the functionality I paid for...

Hi Guys, any comment on this? as far as I am aware there was no disclosure that SysTray and Start Menu functionality was not available in 1.9 for VIsta x64, so I also am waiting for functionality that should have been included on release, after all that is why we all paid for ODPlus right! Please give us a ETA or at least more information as to why this has not been made available yet, even in beta. Cheers. Sorry, for some reason my ENTER key is not working in this panel so cannot break up the paragraphs.

That is the developer of the program answering there. Please be patient as the update is sure to come. Also know you are not the only one that has requested this and it is a high priority.

I appreciate that but that post was made 6 months ago!

I think we have been pretty patient, all I am asking for is an update as to the progress.

Any developers prepared to comment?

Please could you advise on the development of full Vista x64 comaptibility, is it coming or not.

Thanks

i've been waiting forever too, i mainly want the start menu to work
i doubt their even bothering nor ever will.

if they can do it for 32bit vista it shouldnt take long at all for 64bit
they have out money so no reason to care apparantly.

and if your reading stardock team...i want my money back, i bought it soley to replace my start bar with it and now that i migrated to 64bit, its completely useless
thanks for little

Hi Folks,

As previously mentioned, we can guarentee 64bit support is being added to both the start menu docklet as well as system tray support within a very reasonable timeframe. I'd imagine, for the next release (v1.91)

Thanks,

Please could you specify a timeframe, is there an alpha or beta available we can look at?

I don`t think I am being unreasonable asking for these, after all we have all paid for this functionality. Back in January you stated that this functionality would be available within a couple of months and we are still waiting.

Thanks again.....

So, I have read this 3d and I can only think that ObjectDock Plus it's a "NOT TO BUY" program!
I don't understand why we cannot have programs working with 64 bit VISTA.
SAme think with Multiplicity..... but Stardock tells always: WAIT!
What a shame!!!
I have to pay a program when its trial don't work only because Stardock tells: it's only a trial problem, buy the program and see!!
And after??
After I can read here: WAIT.............

Yah, they keep telling us to wait. Going on 7 months sine we first heard this term, haven't seen or heard of any progress on an update. Nice....................................

We appreciate your patience, a first beta of the new technology will be coming out perhaps as soon as this week. (When released Stardock Central will show the update as long as you have "show pre-release versions" checked

Thank you,

Seems like this company spends so much time working on other products / new products and aren't fixing/working on what was promised with this one.

Typical though, look at Creative Labs and Vista.

Perhaps you should talk to Microsoft for having such a crappy 64-bit implementation that it requires significant re-engineering in order to support it.

Some of you guys act like it's just a matter of setting some sort of compiler flag and calling it a day. It's not.

It should be noted that nearly all our software works on X64 -- including Multiplicity contrary to what someone above said.

ObjectDock does work on x64. It's just that a couple of the plugins have not finished being ported to x64.

We expect to have beta updates for x64 support imminently. Keep your eye on Stardock Central.

I don't have Stardock Central. Just wondering if anyone has seen the 64-bit compatible version of ObjectDock up on there yet. Trying to get an idea of when I can expect to be able to download it as a paying ObjectDock Plus user.

Thx.

Hi Adjudicator:

The 64-bit version is indeed up on SDCentral and works quite well. No date at this point when it will go final-release

Could someone tell me where to find the 64bit beta? I have a paid version of ObjectDock, and Stardock Central but cannot locate this anywhere.

Make sure that you are showing pre-release versions (Lower left of SDC).
Make sure you have selected the Misc catagory (not Object Desktop)
OD+64 won't be labelled differently.  It'll jsut be ObjectDock Plus [Beta]

Thank you for the prompt advice. Though i've done what you suggested, i am unable to see the file. Is there a registeration issue perhaps?

EDIT: It was a reg issue. Problem solved and i'm good to go. Thanks again.

2.5 years does seem like a long time to wait for Vista 64 systray support, does it not?

Making the users jump through hoops to get a beta off SDC that actually does work is either an oversight that should be corrected or sadism that should be punished. I mean, it already works. It just isn't on Impulse and is hard to get. What's up with that?
