ObjectDock and Virtual Desktops

I have been a user of Tab Launchpad and Control Center for years, going back to the OS/2 versions. They have served me well for a long time, but there doesn't seem to be any development going on on those products so I decided to use OD+ to replace them. I have replaced the TL with OD, but find there is no equivalent for the CC, especially the virtual desktops. I've become so accustomed to the usefulness of the VDs that I really miss them. I would use the CC with VD but there doesn't seem to be any way to make the OD docks lock to all the desktops, which makes the VDs useless. Is there any virtual desktop product that works with OD? Is there anything in OD that is as simple as the various items in CC, like the disk meters? I have a CC running sans VD but would like to replace it with OD if possible. The OD docklets are way too complicated for such a simple requirement.

Also, is there any way to make the OD system tray 2 lines high? I have a lot of icons in the tray and would like to get some of the taskbar space back for other docks. The Windows tray was easily configurable for multiple lines but I can't find any way to resize the height of the OD tray.

I have also been a user of Tab Launchpad and Control Center for years, going back to the OS/2 versions, and am also concerned about a reduction in functionality in OD, which has generally maintained a steady, if slow, increase in the level of function over the years.

I have installed ObjectDock Plus, which has actually allowed me to drop TabLaunchpad entirely and replace it with a tabbed dock. I hesitate to say how many entries I have in my system tray; suffice it to say that it is two rows high - but then so are the entries associated with all the other tabs.

I have tried to incorporate Virtual Desktops into ObjectBar, but it seems to be impossible to get a vertical column which contains both VD and the drive meters that used to be a featute of CC (colour coded, too!) AND a clock/calendar. In addition, VD in an ObjectBar seem to be incapable of displaying window replicas, which renders VD useless for me. So what happens when CC finally, officially, bites the dust, makes me wonder what other products might supply the functions I need.
