If you don't like questions from the beginner 'layperson' don't read any further. If you have no patience for questions about 'stuff' you've seen and heard enough non-geeks (said with much respect for those handsome geeks out there) [yeah, I'm kissing up to you], ask too many times and you're tired of explaining! Again, move on.
Great, now for those of you still reading. Forgive me if someone has already given instructions on these, I haven't seen any, perhaps point me to it and I'll read it when I can or as soon as I can to fix that article I just posted. But....
(1) I posted an article today, "Family is the endangered species?" and wanted to have a quote I copied in a different color from the rest of the article, even after looking at some instructions, that wren't too clear to me but I tried, it didn't work.
(2) I also tried to embed a title into one of the sentence, this I wanted to do so the title would be a link to what I referred instead of me using the 'link" button and copy-pasting into it. {because of time and convenience while writing} That didn't work either!
I know there are tutorials on some things, not sure about those two. I haven't really take/found the time to read them, because sometimes I simply don't have the time.
Being a mom and a wife and with my attention being demanded by several people, and 'stuff' around the home, when I get on line, it's usually late, late or sometimes early on the weekend or during my off time at work. I utilize my time as quickly as possible, because I really can't spend as much time as I would like, to really peruse and learn some things.
And I've had several questions which I really would like some answers to, if you so kindly desire to answer them, in the most simpliest way for me to understand. Don't read that request as me unable to comprehend, I just learn by seeing and doing for myself. So that also means, give an example when you give your explanation, if possible.
Ok, whew, that's a lot...thanks for staying with me! Now here are the questions I have, which I need a little explanation on, and as I said above, if they're already in a tuturial on JU, please link for me and accept my humble thanks!
I understand this part:
Convert carriage return line breaks to standard HTML '< BR >'.
(3) A little of this part: putting in the return line breaks manually, right?
This option will convert every new line in the body of your artcile in to the HTML equivelent tag.
(4) Not this part, does this mean as I type, when putting in the break return line manually, it becomes the default?
This option is recommended for free hand typing and is the default option.
(5) I did this once, selecting this option for an article and it totally messed up, so I redid it and left it with the default link selected. The part that I copy and pasted, didn't remain as is, it just totally threw off my article layout. So is there a code to make this work?
Pure HTML Mode.
This option will leave all writen information in the body of your blog 'as is' and no code conversion will be done. This is recommended for users who 'Copy & Paste' HTML code in to the blog body field.
and last but not least:
(6) What does the HRule button means, what does using it do? Just curious here.
I like having the layout of my documents looking good or different or with whatever style I'm going with, and most times since I'm such a nontech person, it never seems to work for me.
The site is so easy to maneuver and do the basics, so everything else is so simple and easily done, like the Image part, which I recently learned, hence me being able to post pictures (yeah!) and also the link button, and being able to select the color option in general, but when I want to use it only on a certain text, well, that part never works for me!
What I've learned so far though, I've learned from my fellow JUsers!
You guys rock! {and no, I'm still not kissing up!}
