Problem With Map Editor

Could someone please help with some info on what im doing wrong?
Ive not had any luck what so ever with getting it to work properly
It Loads and asks for the GalCiv install directory so i point it in the right place,
C:\program files etc, the default place GCII installs to.
It then crashes, with an unexpected error, any one any ideas?
I have .net framework v2.0 installed, and in an attempt to get it to work have also installed Visual basic 2005 express (i know it has nothing to do with it but hey, im trying
) and SQL server 2005. There is .net 1.1 and 3.0, i was going to try them next. The Galactopedia works (and i believe that needs the .net framework), but thats it.
