What kind of size and endurance you got?

There's always talks about how many days, weeks, etc that a game takes people. I realize though, that different people have vastly different amounts of times for gaming sessions, and that not each gaming session uses the same amount of time.

So, roughly obviously, how many hours do you guys usually invest into a game? This answer obviously changes with map sizes, abundancy, etc.

I always have played abundant everything. Clustering changes, but it's usually loose clusters.

I usually play gigantic, those take me anywhere from 12 to 24 hours. It's usually about 19.

Huge maps seem to lose about an hour off that time on cleanup.

Large maps take me from 8 to 16 hours. I have finished one of these in a single sitting before.

Haven't really played anything smaller than this that I can remember. I think I played one medium before, but the game was so short I started another in the same gaming session.

If I kept a timesheet, I'd probably have to quit playing or at least cut back drastically

Whether and how long I might play on a given day varies wildly b/c my paid work is very unpredictable. This silly forum cuts into my play time regularly, but I need the scribbling exercise when I'm not able to put in billable hours.

I've been hitting the game harder than ever since mid-fall b/c the beta has me fired up and some family stuff has left me seriously seeking the complete distraction that only a good PC game can provide.

I cut back to Huge maps and have been working them faster than I ever recall doing in DL, but I suspect my learning curve might be as much a factor as stepping down one map size. But I still have a sloppy impression that I don't play half as quickly as n0v4k4n3 does.

Amen. But it can be a fun kind of silly.

BTW are we all trying to top each other with the tongue in cheek post titles?

But to actually answer the OP's question, a gigantic takes me in excess of 100 hours. I'm hoping my new PC will cut that down some though.

I prefer my short but sweet tiny maps. Ussually, I can finish a tiny map in a few hours. Plus, tiny maps does allow me to practice stratigies quickly. I sometimes play bigger maps though.

I've tried playing gigantic/abundant maps, but it looks like they would take me 50-100 hours to finish. And I don't think giant maps are any more fun than small maps. So I generally play small/abundant to huge/rare maps and finish them in about 10-20 hours.

I put about 30 hours into a gigantic abundant loose suicidal. Obscene I could get in right a 28. Inport I aim to post two games a month. Underway I can average 6 a month.

I figure I could be done quicker but I micro every aspect.

Sounds like Fuels Chief has too much time off watch underway! Maybe I ought to call your CO and tell him to work you harder.

My gigantic games also take me around 30 hours of game time, over many sittings (2-3 weeks).

Medium games take me 6-12 hours. Usually over 2-4 sittings.

Overall I like to take a break once the colony rush is over and consider my strategy for a few days before diving in to conquer the universe.
