WINDOWS' STRANGE DAYS

I'm not sure if it's me or my computer (or both), but I've been experiencing problems with Windows these days. An isolated freeze or singular lag aside, my primary complaint is with the suddenly numerous ERROR MESSAGES that besiege me. Not a day goes by that I don't encounter an IE error, with everything from a minor snafu to a major shut-down. Can someone out there offer some advice? Thanks a lot.
