Loading error

I just loaded the game and after selecting a new game it starts loading and then the music stops and it eventually just closes, the game never launches. I reinstalled twice. My debug is as follows:

Your video drivers are in need of an update. You can find the latest drivers available for your chipset from intel here.

Well, you definitely got further than I did.

I have the recommended requirements.
AMD 64bit 2.0Ghz processor; 512MB RAM; 128MB DirectX 9; 140GB hard drive space.

It is running XP Home withservice pack 2.

Installing the Game:
Disk 1 is placed into the drive, after a few seconds the autorun.exe starts up.
On the display, I get the launch screen.
I select 'Install game'
-- after 65 minutes it is still displaying the launch screen.
-- Windows Task Manager informs me that it the application is not responding.
-- I went through the process of updating drivers, the installed drivers were
uptodate.
-- Installation was tried with both the CD-ROM drive and the DVD drive.
-- other CD's were tried in the drives (both game and music) - both drive types
worked as expected.

The installation never gets past the launch screen, but seems to keep trying to search for something.
The other selection, 'readme.txt' pulls up the text file, but has no troubleshooting guide.
There is no system warning message that anything is being blocked.

Any help would be appreciated.

nutcase2--possibly a bad install disk? If you've got a high speed internet connection, you can download the game from the web using your registration key. The bonus is that it will be up to date to version 1.4x which is the latest and greatest.

Thanks for the help... but the downloading is not an option at this time.

Although I have cable, the entire registration process seems highly suspect.

The sn started with a GC2- and I ended up having to use the site for European customers with problems..

I di dget a new sn which seemed to be accepted, however, everything at that point 'fell through'.

The used email address, although valid to accept the new sn sent to me, is not allowed to be used for registration. First I get a mssg that the email is already being used then I get a response that the sn sent to me is used with another email account...

So... appears the game needs a lot more testing.
I sent an email to support, but if they are anything like other company support, I am not holding my breathe for any positive resolution.

It is juts too bad I had to open the box to attempt to install the game as once opened I cannot get a refund.

These guys are not like others. They will help get it resolved.

the entire registration process seems highly suspect.

Not sure why you think this.
