Looking to buy this game from a store

Hello, I was interested in purchasing this game, but since it is relatively old now Best Buy is no longer stocking it unless you purchase it online. I was wondering what other major franchises (Wal-mart, etc.) may have this game in stock at their physical store locations?

The Wal-Marts in this area still have some (currently ~$30), so you may want to check the ones in your area to see if they have it as well.

I saw a copy at a GameStop a couple of days ago, if you have these in your area.

I have all three of those chains in abundance here in the Northern Virginia/DC Metro area, but I have yet to see a single copy of Galactic Civ in any of them. If you don't spot it in your stores right away, you will be much better off ordering it online from Stardock. You can download it and play it that day, and then you'll still get the CD fairly quickly.

Interesting. I am just south of you in Richmond and Wal-Mart still has a few copies.

My local Walmart ran out of the collectors edition, but restocked with the original. Good to see them still restocking GCII instead of just letting the shelf space go to something newer.

Everyone else still has it. One more proof that I live in a giant center of Suck. It happens with other titles, too. When Mad Minute Games came out (finally) with their title Civil War: Battle of Bull Run, I called all of the EB Games stores in the area. Even the nearby store in Centreville, which is located right on the freaking battlefield, didn't have it and was only getting it on special order. RRRrrrr...

Tend to agree. I have lived in the Ashland/Mechanicsville area all my life an avoid Northern VA & DC like there is a plague. The Tidewater area has to be #2 on the Suck list.

Oops off topic.

Well, I checked Wal-mart and they had two copies but I didn't buy either. One of the boxes was clearly open and the other one had been roughed up quite a bit so I decided not to take any risk in buying it. The Gamestop here was really disorganized and they had no logical sorting of their PC games so I gave up looking for it there. I guess I'll just order it off the internet (not digital purchase since it's $10 more). Thanks for the help.

A bit of advice for that--get it new from a regular retailer online, rather than an auction site or the user-sales on Amazon. If you buy a used copy, we cannot offer support or patches.
