Evil Islands DirectX Issue

The recommended System Requirements say: directx8.0 or higher (i have dx9) and when i try to launch the demo it says "this game requires directx7" and i am not gonna downgrade my directx installation. is this only a problem with the demo version or does the full game also require directx7 ??

Sorry, didn't see this before.     

We've not gotten a report of this issue from anyone else, and I've never seen it myself (I'm using DirectX 9).  You may want to try reinstalling DX9 from Microsoft and see if that helps.

nope ... removed directx via directxbuster, reinstalled version 9c, then tried version 8.1 -> always same result:

I'm at a loss. You can try posting on Nival's forums to see if they have any ideas. Short of that, please email sales@stardock.com and they'll be able to provide a refund.

thanks for your time, but seems like i got it working now. my directx installation was corrupted in some way, dxdiag showed version 9c - nvidia drivers told me version 6 and another tool told me directx version 3 is installed, and after trying lots of directx installers i found one on gamecd that installed directx9c right. guess it was the earth2160 directx installer that helped
