Does anyone from StarDock Support or Development check this forum?

I've been posting about the problem with Messenger chat windows opening up minimized for months now, never seen a reply. Does anyone from StarDock check these posts? I think a simple fix would be to add some options to the Dock Properties, so that we could force windows to open up in various modes for certain classes of windows. That way, for the Messenger Chat class, we could force it to open up "Normal" or "Maximized" or whatever.

I don't have it.

I notice on my browser shortcuts, If I right click them and go to Dock Entry properties, the 'run' has a drop down letting me choose to run it normal, minimized or maximized.

Does the chat have the same options?

I've never seen this issue.

I don't really hae any suggestion on that.

Stardock people do hang out here but posts don't get put into the database.

Hi Jimer,

I'm pretty sure that that is a by-design behavior with MSN Messenger chat windows. They come up as a little notification in the bottom right hand corner of the screen, and if ignored they just go away to the background until you click on it. I don't particularly see a way around this unfortunatly. I tried it on several machines, uninstalling ObjectDock completly from some and rebooting and trying, and I observed that exact behavior. (One had MSN 'Live' another had v7.5 i believe it was)

Have you tried turning ObjectDock off and then recieving a new message? Is the behavior different?

In the Messenger options dialog you can set it so it doesn't start minimized.

- WWW link - thanks for that! I didn't know about it. My Stardock Central login doesn't work on it, so I probably have to create one.


- MSN behavior - yes, if I quit OD+, then new chat windows open up just like normal. When OD+ is running, they come up minimized. Strange, that is the only app I have that problem with.
