Sorry I'm a Total Newb to Totalgames/Stardock Central

Hello!

I found out about Stardock company through the excellent GalCiv II which I bought in typical brick & mortar store.

Then I found out that the same company was offering Space Rangers 2...a game I wanted to play but didn't buy due to it having Starforce.

So I just have some quick questions (I tried searching, honest!):

Space Rangers 2 is DRM free (which I assume includes the dreaded Starforce), but how does Stardock Central work? I understand I need this to download the game after I purchase it online. Is it like Valve's Steam where I have to always have it running in the background (eating up system resources) whenever I want to play the game I bought?

Is there an option where I can get a hard copy manual? (I assume the online one comes with a PDF version of it)

The version of Space Rangers 2 on TotalGaming.net does not contain Starforce. You do need to use our Stardock Central application to download/install it. However, once installed you no longer need to keep Stardock Central running to play the game. You could even uninstall Stardock Central afterwards if you wanted.

We don't offer hardcopy versions of manuals, but the digital version does come with a PDF version. Space Rangers 2 also includes a special HTML version that runs in its own app.
