_incredibly_ slow downloading

Hi there

I just bought and began to download Galciv II (played GalCiv I many many times a couple of years back

) but... the download seems to be unbelievably slow. The connection is quite easily capable of 200k or so a second, and it's currently running at around 900 BYTES per second... and never spikes above about 1.3kB. Has anyone got any suggestions as to why this is? (if anyone's got any suggestions as to why the forum won't let me press enter to get a new line, that would be appreciated too... as it is, I'll just apologise for the lack of formatting)

Typing posts through the SDC portal can have issues.

You can try another server, its under tools, internet, (I think) but I have tried that in the past and the other was slow as well.

I get the same problem as well. My connection can do almost 2megs a second (fiber optic) and I usually get downloads from stardock in the bytes per second. I found that if you are getting a slow connection speed for downloading from stardock, then you need to hit cancel and retry. After doing this for about 20 times you will finally get your max download speed. My guess is that there are to many connections to the servers and its slowing you down. Just keep retrying untill you get a good connection.
