Updating retail version

Hey, quick question. Bought this game over the weekend, and I'm completely hooked! Only just thought about updating to the newest version, though. Can anyone tell me whether updating will have any effect on the game I'm already playing? ie. will I see the changes when I load my game, or will I have to start a new one to enjoy the improvements?

It's best to finish a game before updating, it could cause crashes and various other problems otherwise.

I don't know, I've never tried it. You should try it and see if something cool [errrr catastrophic] happens

Better to finish your game and then update or get the update and scrap your current game.

No, not a good idea. Always finish your game, then update.
