Designing Ships

I was noticing that the templates used for the korath are cool looking and my question is how to you use those designs i selected use but it started over to a basic ship with no extra's. I am not good at ship designing so maybe someone can post some pics or hints. I am a happy camper with all the extra pieces that are provided just where do i put them.

Play as the Korath,  or as a race that uses the Korath Ship Style  (See Appearance tab when setting up your race)

When you go to the ship designer, find the template you want, and click "Use"

If you are noticing parts being stripped off of the template when you use it, check the Options screen for an option called "Remove functional components when upgrading"

Please uncheck that and see if that helps.

You should spend the time to learn how to design your own ships. It is a very big part of the fun of the game.

All the ships i first designed were crap too. but if you go to your saved game directory in 'my documents' and look in the 'ships' folder, you can delete them so they do not keep reapearing like a bad smell with every new game!

If you need help designing ships, there is a tutorial about it in the Tutorials screen.  Just click the "Tutorials" button on the main menu.

If you installed from Stardock Central, instead of a CD-ROM, you will need to download the "Tutorials" module.

Thanks much appreciated. I will experiment just hope my fleet of mr potato heads don't look too odd
