HELP!

DesktopX Keeps Crashing

Im currently w/ DesktopX 3.10 I’ve been using Object dock and DesktopX for like a 1 or 2 yrs, honestly i don’t think I could function well without them. Today i edited my windows explorer startup config, leaving out some progs and apps i thought i didn’t need at startup, within a short time i noticed my widgets and objects were missing from the desktop? I tried to reload them, i could get a couple very basic objects to load, but that’s it. Each time i try to load a widget of semi complex object windows crashes desktop X. I quickly reset my windowsXP settings to how they were, thinking this will fix it, but i got the same results. Oh yea, i also reinstalled D-topX but same thing.

If i could, i would use 'system restore' but it wasn't running at the time. I have a nice system w/ lots of extra memory, cash., diskspace etc etc. any ideas out there?? at all? Somehow Windows isn’t excepting the code DesktopX injects into it when starting up or starting up a widget.

Can't see that anything taken out of startup would cause this, widgets only need DX to be installed, does not need to be running, for widgets to be able to run.
I don't have DX running at startup, when go to objects or themes folders and double click one this loads DX first.
Are you sure it was startup and not services you were changing.
Only thing I can think of is Windows Scripts got messed up, download and run Windows Script for XP

could depend on what you edited, have you tried going back in to the startup and putting them back?
