Mega event or serious AI bug?

I was just playing DA 1A Beta with Humans and trying to be good. I was leading the game in every way and even supplied Iconians so much ships that Drengi made peace with em. Then all the suddently the game changed completely.

Drengis military rating sky rocketed and they suddently spawned literally 200 ships from thing air! Did not took long for me to lose the game. I was pretty astounded to say the least, if this is not a mega event what is? I did not get any message either, they just came and anhilated me

The Drengin super ability includes free ships every time they declare war... either that's what happened and it needs some balancing, or they got the 'DIE HUMANS!' event with another AI.

It's definitely Drengin's super-ability.
It needs serious balancing.

The Drengin declared war on Altarian now in my game which meant that the three other good races declared war on Drengin.

Drengin now have a total of 1225 attack ships and most likely got over a thousand ships in that turn. I can see 11*18 fleets with 5 Super Dominator Corvettes each on one square. That is 440 ships.

It's lucky that they are so bad, otherwise his ship maintenance would be much higher. It's ~2500bc and his income is only ~600bc.

Ah, so THAT is what happened.
I went to war with them, seeing they only had their two planets. Suddenly my fleets are wiped out and they have a massive one. It really needs to be balanced more.

i've also had a similar experience with the Korx... after completely whipping out their military. every few turns a few ships would spawn from thin air... and i know it was thin air thanks to the eyes of the universe.

Drengin declared war on Arcean in the same game and he now has 3091 attack ships. So he got roughly 1900 ships because of that.
I think I'm going to play without Drengin until the next beta version

It would be handy to have the details of the super abilities. As time moves on I learn of more details of them from others posts that I havent noticed or known about. There are general descriptions of Super Abilitiers in the game, but I am not aware of anywhere where it gives the detail of each one.

Whilst the above Drengin incident is obviously a balancing issue (Please god    ), it demonstrates the need in final release for an accessible detailed description of each super ability being easily available to players.

If its already there and I missed it - apologies in advance

Either I've finally seen somthing that was possible all along in DL or there's something funky about the Drengin on very large maps.

My current game is 1A, gigantic, abundant planets, abundant habitable, common stars, on Tough AI. I've got Super Hive and have been very dominant for the last couple of years, roughly 2227-2229.

The galaxy has been at peace the whole time so far as I could tell (didn't get contact with all 9 rivals for quite a while). Terrans were #2 & a while back they accepted my offer of alliance.

Two or three turns ago, the Terrans declared war on the Drengin. The next turn the *Drengin* surrendered to the *Terrans*! ?!?
