Scripted Mail plugin - No Internet connection causes 100 % CPU

Ist there any way to prevent the scripted mail plugin to max the CPU when it has no connection to the internet or doesn't find the mail server ? If a connection gets lost or the mail server is down temporarily a widget/gadged containing the plugin raises to 95 % CPU activity and never gets out of that state (even if the conection returns) until restarted. And it reports errors when ended.

I'm not getting that problem here. Is that happening with every object using the scripted mail plugin ?

I've tried to reproduce it with only a call to the mail plugin and if there is no connection to the internet, it's returning 0 emails found.

Perhaps you can help me isolate the problem:
- using an IP address or a domain name for the email server ?
- POP or IMAP ?
- which OS ?
- what kind of errors are reported ?

Thank you.
