Explorer freezing at start up

My computer starts up then explorer crashes

This keeps happening, mainly when use restart function or when I have to turn it off at the switch coz its frozen. It boots up fine and everything, but explorer crashes and stops everything else from working as well, and I have to turn off and start up again.

I have worked out that if I get task manager up as soon as it does it I can end the explorer process and then run it again and everything runs perfect. But even if I wait 5 seconds after it starts freezing then it doesn't work

I can easily tell when it happens, because the strip of the task bar in either side of my show desktop quick launch icon goes see through. If I put my mouse over the task bar then it turns into the sand timer, but not if it's over the desktop.

I'm not sure if it's reacting to a skin, cause it does it with all the skins i've tried, or if it's theme manager (alien GUIes, beacse it's only started happening once that was installed.

Thanks in advance for your help
