Do you get a full boxed version with online purchase?

Just had a quick question for anyone in the know:
If you choose to buy the game directly from SD, do you in fact get a full retail boxed copy shipped to you?
Many of the posts here seem to have suggested that you'll only recieve a copy of the game CD (which is shipped inside a DVD case), but no physical "dead tree edition" manual or box. (The box I can actually do without, but manuals -- especially for 4X games -- frequently come in handy.)
I appreciate the fact that you'll get to download it from the day it's released if you buy it online, and I'm all for supporting SD as an independant developer... but paying full price, *plus shipping* for just the CD seems a bit unfair.
Someone please tell me I'm wrong in my assumption that you only get the disc itself...
