Cannot finish installing from CD-ROM

I recently purchased GalCiv 2 and have spent the last 2 hours trying to get it to install on my Laptop. After 40 MINUTES of installing cd 1, I get a prompt to insert CD 2 but my laptop locks up and I cannot get the install to complete. I am really bummed out about this since the graphics look to be outstanding. What can i do to fix this? I have a combo CDRW-DVD drive (just in case it makes a difference).

Help me please!

Download and install Stardock Central. You can find it in Downloads.
Once you register the game you can download the complete game and install it from your hard drive or directly from Stardock Central.

There have been batches of bad cd's, you are not the only one that has had this kind of problem. Fortunately, Stardock makes it pretty easy to get around the problem. You won't need the cd to play the game.

ps you can as you know use the serial number that came with the disk for a online download version too
