Some icons reset on reboot

I'm using the latest version of Iconpackager and now icons have started to reset back to the windows defaults when I reboot. It seems like some icons (whose icons were set with windows, not IP) do not reset to their defaults, only those set using IP were.

The only change I have made recently is installing the latest nvidia drivers.

I am also suffering from this problem too:

https://forums.stardock.com/index.aspx?forumid=169&aid=130188 (Icons for files keep changing on reboot)

Though it is just small random things that change on reboot, like the shortcut overlay.

I'm on XP Pro SP1, I don't have any other icon editors, no other programs set as the default icon editor.

I will pass this on to our technical support department, and they will get back with you as soon as they can.

Thanks!

Don't know how helpful this is, but I forgot to mention that this did happen to me for a long period over a year ago - I can't remember how it was fixed though.

Same thing there.

nVidia drivers.
ForceWare Release 90
Version: 91.47
Release Date: September 14, 2006

Tried everything, from uninstalling/reinstalling IconPackager to Icon cache repair, same result, after reboot several icons switch back to default Windows icons. (My documents, my computer, search, run, etc)

Interesting to see you've also just installed the new nvidia drivers. Don't know if it's relevant but I have done two installs of them and each time I can't access the nvidia control panel through the normal methods - only in the 'old' way through display properties.

Tried it with the 92.91 beta drivers and the problem still occurs.

: I would first highly suggest you update to SP2 through here: http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com

OneOfSand: Which version of IP are you running and which version of Windows (including service packs)?

I also have this problem. I formatted my Windows partition and reinstalled everything, but here is my current setup: Windows XP Pro (SP2 with _all_ of the Windows Update patches applied), NVIDIA Quadro FX 3000 (drivers v91.36 [non-beta]), 4GB RAM, Logika suite), with 48x48 icons. I can tell that when Windows first launches, the icons are placed where I left them, but as soon as the rest of Object Desktop launches, they revert back. I can also get this to happen if I change anything in the OD settings. Another non-icon-related issue is that explorer.exe _always_ hangs when I either restart or shutdown. I don't know what the cause of this is. In another non-related issue, the Device Manager window is completely blank (just the frame opens). If I right-click inside the window, Windows thinks I right-clicked on the Desktop. I literally have just the window frame; no contents.

Oops...I just lied. I thought IconX was running, it wasn't. My icons and Device Manager is behaving now, though explorer still hangs.
