It's simple really....... right click your OD systray icon > My Docks > You'll see 4 buttons in the My Dock dialog.......
Create new dock
Create new tabbed dock
Remove this dock
Edit this dock

All that does is just creat a new plane jane blank dock, a new planbe jane blank tabbed dock or edit or remove an existing dock or tabbed dock.... I am wanting to take my existing dock and not use one of the default backgrounds that come with object dock plus..... but instead i want to use one of the cool lookin Azenis Tabs & Side docks that you can download here: https://www.wincustomize.com/Skins.aspx?LibID=29&view=1&sortby=4&sortdir=DESC&p=3&advanced=0

and i canty figure out how to apply it?

First, the link you gave wasn't to Azensis Tabbed docks.

Second, Bichur (reply #1) Linked to the Object Dock Tutorials that would have solved your problem.

Third, since you don't want to read the tut's here's how...

After you have d/l the docks, extract the .zip to a location of your choosing. There will be several folders that you will need to cut/paste into C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Dock\backgrounds.

After you have done this, righ-click the dock and select tabbed settings > then highlight on of your Tabs > then select the style drop down menu and find the one you want. IF this is a Zoomer dock > Appearance tab > Dock drop down menu.

Again, you should Read The Tutorials Bichur Linked...this will save you alot of time waiting for responses.

In addition to what KiloKrash posted:

Most ObjectDock backgrounds such as Azenis come in a .zip file. After you have downloaded the .zip file extract it to the ObjectDock/Backgrounds folder. When you have done that then select configure dock and for the non-tabbed dock click on Appearance on left and select the dropdown arrow for Backgrounds. There you can choose the new backgrounds you have extracted.

For the tabbed dock after you click on configure dock select Tabs & Styles. Then click on one of the tabs such as "Main" and you can then select from the "Style" dropdown list which tab style that has been extracted to the ObjectDock/Backgrounds folder.

Just a matter of trying things out to see what you can do with it. Not that hard to figure out.

I didnt see Bichur's post, sorry bout that...(wasn't that i didnt read it) and i dont think there is a need to be a smart a$$ with your 1, 2, 3. I dont think I will be posting in this forum anymore as the users here are not friendly.

The users here are more than willing to assist anyone seeking help. You have had 4 answers in less than an hour and some in detail as to how to accomplish what you asked for. Trying to interpret a response as
not friendly.
is not something that I notice in this posting.

Hope you were able to get the backgrounds that you wanted working.

There is no reason for this. Just because you have a bad experience with one poster (me in this instance) shouldn't motivate you from reaping the benifits of the WC forums...I don't see the logic here.

Anyway, I'll I was trying to point out was the fact that you had your problem solved with the first Reply. If you didn't see the post then you didn't see the post, but next time I would read a little more carefully.

Again, there is no reason to leave just because you encountered someone that was an arse...though I feel my comment was well within bounds.

Hankers,

I wasn't referring to the lack of help. I have received the help that i needed, in more than a timely manner. This forum has done a great job, in that aspect.

I was referring to KiloKrashs post where he weas quite rude ..... Third, since you don't want to read the tut's here's how... Where in my previous post did I say "that i didnt want to read the tut's"? I didn't and he was wrong to assume that this was the case, when a more articulate reply might have been "did you already try the tut that Bichur posted". But he chose the "Arse" route as he himself stated.

Maybee i am being too hard on kilokrash though, i guess every forum has its good helpers and its bad helpers that need to be ignored. I dont see an Ignore button anywhere though any help with that?

I didnt see Bichur's post, sorry bout that..

that happens... generally I try to change the color of the link (at Stardock forums the color difference is clear)

don't be too hard on Kilo, KK's usually quite helpful..bear in mind for those of us that spend a lot of time on the forums we see a lot of posts where people just dismiss our replies out of hand - at first glance that is sort of the appearance implied in your reply #3, since there was no mention of what I posted.

and you gotta give KK credit for assuming responsibility for the tone of his post - I've see a few that don't

Glad you were able to get the ObjectDock backgrounds working. KiloKrash is quite helpful in the forums and on the irc channels. I'm sure he had no itention of being rude. There shouldn't be any need to use an "ignore" button even if there was one.

Feel free to post in the forums anytime you wish.

I must appologize for my posting...yes I see now it was rather uncalled for.

I unfortunately let some of my past experiences get in the way of my rational...for this I appologize. I truely hope that if you have any further questions you don't hesitate to use the forums.

Actually, this has been quite the learning experience for me...for that I thank you.

Outstanding. I apoligize for being rude as well in dismissing my membership here. BTW... the tut was right on the money on getting the different backgrounds working. Why donsen't the theme manager do all of that for you though, wouldn't that be much easier? than having to do it manually.
