All Programs menu corruption

Hi There

I have a number of different skins installd and run a fully paid up WindowBlinds 5.1

I have noticed on a number off skins that there is a corruption in the all programms fly-out menu

As you can see part of the menu has a black line around it and part has not...the menu when first opened starts with a black line around all of it and as you move the cursor over the window, where it highlights a selection the black line disappears.

Is this just "bad" (i'm not being critical cause I couldn't create a skin) coding of the skin, and is it easy to fix...?

It doesn't happen with all skins, and stops me using some I would liek to because of this issue....

Cheers

Your files indicate that you have the latest version of WindowBlinds and not a combination of trial and purchased version which has been known to cause some issues. Are your video drivers up to date? If so, you may try reverting to a previous driver. You should also send a request for assistance directly to support@stardock.com.

What skin is that?

Neil, that skin is TransGloss from the GUIC. I believe the author has made an update, though. Link Below.

I knew I had the latest version of WB, and as a gamer I'm not rolling my graphics drivers backwards...As I recall it has happened for a while...I've just not bothered to mention it before...

Happening on another GUIC skin Vectra as seen below...I will email support and see if they can give any suggestions...

I have exactly the same problem are, I hope there's a solution.
Btw, the problem shows up only in my restricted user account, the admin one is fine .

What other apps are you running at the time?

I was unable to reproduce this here on a cleanish XP install.

Windows XP Tabletpc Edition 2005, NOD32, Norman Personal Firewall, Intel Software for WLAN, several tools from Toshiba, that's it.

Somewhat the same issue here, mostly appearing after a game has used my graphicscard. An reload of skins fixes it until I play another game and I am back to square one!

I've been seeking an answer on this one for a couple years now and have yet to see one.
A common one that shows this problem is Blackcomb which comes with WB. I see it at home on my CRT monitors, but not at work on my LCD's. Hope that helps a tad.

Why have not Stardock done something to fix this problem. Since this has been for a long time. Stardock get your but out and do something. It doesn't solve it self. Its just good maners to do atleast try to fix this, or doesn't stardock read this forums? It's a anoying problem thats needs to get fixed soon! I am a bit angry, and almost given up using windowblinds.

Knightospr,
Since the issue is very very difficult to duplicate, and is not apparent in a common fashion it will be very hard if not impossible to fix. It is just too random. The common factor has yet to be discovered due to the rarity. Being rude about it will not speed the solution.

Furthermore, the author/lead developer of Windowblinds has been actively participating in this thread and clearly 1) reads this forum and 2) has his "but out."

= Stardock employee (and in this case, lead dev)

So far I think it is an issue between ati drivers and windowblinds. I am sorry about that "Butt" thing a while ago. Guess I had som "steam", sorry it vented out a little in the forum. It usually hurt the wall/hand.

The corruption happens when the gpu card reload the desktop, desktop blanks out in black for some microsekunds and comes back after a game or anything related to 3d mode. I also use same resolutin in game as in desktop(lcd native mode).

My system is also running Norton Internet Security 2007, no issue with it. Stable and noe resource hog as 2006. I don't think it interferes, but you never know!

Could be tempting to get a new gpu card, but that's a huge investment, beside I am waiting to I can afford a new system with support for pci express. Motherboard + gpu card + (memory if am2 or intel dual core 2).

Current system is Amd64 3500+ with corsair 2 gb ram
Sapphire radeon x800xt 256 mb agp 8x

Vel I am giving up, they aint gonna fix it I guess. When Vista comes, I stay with default ui, its nice looking and I don't need no windowblinds anymore. I am sorry to say, I am not a satified customer, and wont buy any more software that I risk a bug or something in the future that they don't fix.

From no on, I stay with default skin, atleast it work as it should!!! (using xp silver, looks not that bad as the blue one)

If you can't get it to work after working with support, I would suggest that you look for a refund. That may help satisfy you.
