Avast! It speaks..? Yarrh....

I installed Avast on my Vista 5744 partition a couple of days ago. Seem to work fine, but... every time it updates itself it notifies me by speaking. I've tried to turn it of, cause I have nodesire to know when that happends, I simply trust it will do it's job. But for the love of sanity I can't find the setting. I found a "Silent" optionbox in the "Updates" section of the program settings, but it didn't seem to have much effect. It's still talking to me. Anyone know how to make this parrot silent?

right click the avast icon.
select "program settings"
select "update (basic)"
press the "details" button.
select "silent" and whether or not you want to be notified with the popup, etc.

Obviously, then, you haven't got the 'seductive version' that informs of updates with a sexy female voice.

Bakerstreet: That's exactly what I did the first time I got the update message. It didn't work. It's still talking.

Might be an issue with the version for Vista. Works fine in XP.

Well, the last thing I tried was telling it not to bring up that little window in the bottom right corner as well. So far so good. It's kept it mouth shut.
