Unable to load bitmaps

Hello.

I've been using WindowBlinds 5.01 for a few months now, generally pleased with it.

The problem I'm currently having is one I already experienced ONCE, and which went away after a simple restart.

I'm not so sure what caused it the first time around, but I'm pretty sure this time it's the October 2006 Windows Updates I installed through Microsoft Update today. They were mostly security updates, but also one for Microsoft NET Framework 2.0.

I'm not so sure what these recent updates changed or modified, but after the reboot, the result was that any buttons, such as: Minimize, Maximize, Exit, OK, Close, Accept, Decline, Retry, Ignore, Yes, No, any "checkboxes", "radios", programs in All Programs in the Start menu showed the message Unable to load bitmaps. Such is the case when I minimize any window to the taskbar (which is gray itself). I cant even see the box on the side scroll bar with whuch I scroll up and down an internet page (the scroll bar is also gray).

Are some skins\bitmaps missing? Are they permanently erased? Why isn't my second user effected by this? (on which WindowBlinds isn't installed)

I tried restarting multiple times, changing themes through WindowBlinds, changing themes thorugh the Windows Control Panel, yet wth no success.

What do I need to do?

Will uninstalling the application solve the problem?

Should I reinstall it afterwards as well?

Should I change the theme to the Windows XP default before uninstalling the application?

Or, is there a new patch to address this new problem? (highly unlikely though, since the updates form microsoft only came out today)

Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance to anybody who could help me out!

Trial or Paid?
Or did you go from trial to paid?
That message could indicate a mismatch of WB files.
Open WB config, click system info on the left and copy/paste to here the info that shows up.

Should I change the theme to the Windows XP default before uninstalling the application?

If uninstall/reinstall is needed, yes.
That would be a good rule for any customizing product.

I'm using the Paid version. I've unloaded WindowBlinds for the time being, and everything seems to be alright, for now. I saw that only today a new update to this application showed up (5.1), so I'll download and install it soon and see if it might solve my problem.
