Issues with ObjectDock

I bought ObjectDock+ the other day and I am liking it a lot. Yesterday I've cut the cord and removed the standard taskbar.

I do however have some issues (or maybe I haven't explored the options properly). I wanted to create a full replacement for the taskbar. So I created a regular Dock. However, you cannot 'Reserve Edge of Screen' with it, thus the applications just hide underneath the dock, which is not acceptable to me. Ok, so I created a tabbed dock, which does allow to 'Reserve Edge of Screen'. So this would have been a good replacement for the standard taskbar, except that it does not have the option to display the running tasks. Plus, I have found no way to remove the Tab handle itself, thus the tabbed dock reserves more space on the screen than it neeeds to. I reduced the size of the Tab handle to the bare minimum, which is OK, I guess.

So, it seems like ObjectDock has all the features I need, accept they are in the wrong places. Tabbed Dock has the features, that I want in the Regular Dock and vice versa.

Unless I am doing something wrong due to inexperience.

Regards

I use a little app called Sizer to control the size of windows, and the area they occupy. It's free.....

Right click the tabbed dock, and select "Tab Settings" Click the "Add Tab" button, and select "Add a taskbar tab".

I have the same problem. When I used the free version, I could reserve the bottom of the screen. Now I've got OD Plus, but since I'm using a normal dock my windows keep covering it.

I use WindowFX since I have ODNT

I would too, but it never works correctly. The X, Y coodorinates I set are ignored, and winodows are positioned at x=0, y=0. Not what I want.

Besides, Sizer gives you more options than a single setting.

I did not care for sizer. I want windows to maximize to a certain size by default. There must be some patch to OD that will allow reserving of space for non-tabbed docks.

Hey Everyone,

Just for your information the next release of ObjectDock (v1.5) will be coming out next month and will have an option to reserve-edge-of-screen for all types of docks
