help me!

i recently bought DesktopX client version and downloaded theme. is it possible to edit the theme?
For example, under "Internet" tab, there were sites which I do not go. is it possible to erase these sites and add sites that i visit often? same goes to other tabs such as media, etc...
do i need to buy other version of DesktopX in order to do this? thanks

Not familiar with Client version, but I'm guessing it doesn't come with alot of modification options (guessing you can only modify that which is allowed when the theme was created)

Standard Version comes with Builder which lets you modify or create to your hearts content

check the price of on upgrade, then look at the whole Object Desktop package (also has an upgrade price). The whole package gives a lot more bang for the buck.

I second Bichur's comment, go with the full OD 2007 with the Standard DesktopX, I think you'll be very pleased you did. I know I am. Making your own customizing is where the big fun begins.

With desktopX client you can set the Target or (path) to a new program or URL by right clicking the shortcut and click on (set target) then navigate your way to the program or URL you want, Then when you click on the shortcut it will take you to the program you want.. How ever you can not edit the text in client mode you have to be in the builder mode to edit or change any thing.....

Thanks, Murex, was trying to figure out how to add links to my "Websites" popup as it only came with WinCustomize. Right on.

Nope...still can't figure out how to add link to Websites menu in Aero XP DX theme. I only get "set target" when I right-click the one existing WinCustomize shortcut. Wil keep picking away at it, running DX Builder

do you get a 'clone' option?

Whoah! That's cool! Just went to the skin's "comments", scanned thru them, and came up with WWW Link that spells it out! Now I'm actually liking DX...that's a first, after 4 yrs. Thanks, Bichur, for the lightning response. Clone, then "Ctrl + mouse and drag", then rename (save target as...). Piece. Of. Cake.   [just found I can edit "mouseover" and "mousedown" and lots of other things!]

Yes cloning is great. When I make my themes and I am making my text shortcuts I make all the effects that I want to use such as different colors for mouse away and mouse over. shadows, sounds or outlines. Then all I have to do is keep cloning the shortcut then bring up the properties and change the text.. Saves a lot of time when making a lot of menus. another little trick I use, is to make my menus. then make my text then position my menu make all the child parent settings then clone it as many times as I need. That way all I have to do is change the text to read the name of the program or shortcut that I want and change the menu ID. that way every thing is in it's place and I don't have to make settings for each and every menu.. hope this makes sense and helps

There are lots and lots of cool things in DX. But SHHH don't tell any one because then every one will want to use it.....

Thanks, Murex. It does make sense, and yes it's a great idea.
