InDesign Problems with Argos

I am having a problem with the Argos skin. With InDesign CS2, the font previews are not visible except when they are active. Normally, you can see all previews of all the fonts in the drop down list.

Also, all of the Palette captions look active or greyed out. All the inactive ones are impossible to see because they have a very light yellow font on a neutral grey background. At my screen resolution 1200x1600, there is not enough contrast to read them. I know mostly which palettes are which, but it helps to have the captions readable.

The other two programs in the CS2 suite don't have either problem, Photoshop and Illustrator show the font previews and the palette captions just fine.

In ID CS2, most of the dialog boxes also have captions that look inactive.

Thanks,

Kirk

Why dont you just add Indesign CS2 to your WB config to the " Per application " and exclude it from being skinned ? I know thats probably not the answer you wanted but I have one graphic program that I cant view half the tools with every other blind. Just seems to happen for some reason. So I just dont let WB skin it anymore.

Excluding is unlikely to help as it sounds like a system wide colour scheme issue.

I figured that sounded too easy.

I am not going to exclude one of the programs that I use all the time from the skinned programs. That seems silly. To exclude an obscure program that you don't have to look at all the time is one thing, but a major productivity program is not.

If the skin needs to work system-wide, or it is a step back from Windows NT classic mode, which does work system-wide.

I am going to try another skin, I just feel like I wasted money on an otherwise very nice skin because it fails to work in the one of my top 3 most used programs.

Here are a couple of screen captures.

Pix Office isn't as appealing of a suite to me, but it does work better with InDesign.

I will try some others.

Followed your instructions,I Am Pariah, actually I used the directions for editing the *.uis file. I am using the Novum OS 1.6 theme.

Opened NovumOS.uis and changed WindowFrame from 255,255,255 to 41,41,41 and changed GreyText from 251,252,253 to 180,180,180. Saved and reapplied the theme, opened Indesign and no change. I changed the theme to Adamant and indesign looked better, however, I still couldn't see the font examples, I could see everything else.

So I used a per application setting for Indesign and had it skin using the Adamant theme and now it doesn't look right nor using any other skin that works when applied over the whole system. Unloading WB to use InDesign is a terrible option.

any thoughts?
