How to stop Flagship going through Wormholes

when its on automatic survey

Heres the thing...

I like to send my Flagship on automatic survey as I then don't have to try to remember what areas I'm covered - and as its probably better at located things than I am.

So at the start I tell it to survey things on its own.

I then start getting the critically important extra cash etc at the begining of the game.... that is, of course, until the Flagship decides to jump into a wormhole.

It is now located at the opposite end of the giantic galaxy - meaning I won't be getting any bonuses for 20+ turns.

On the last game it did this, finally got back into my space... and went straight through another wormhole. Arrgggghhhhh! What were the developers thinking? Perhaps: "I know, here's a good way to kill any chance of a user getting good bonuses at the start of the game".

Is there any way or even any mod that can stop this daft behavour? Thanks

Show Found Anomaly Popup

I have not had it checked for some time, but the popup window might give you a chance to cancel the harvesting of that particular anomaly.

If not, keep an eye on where it's going. The wormhole anomalies are a yellowish color.

nope doesnt work. And the wormholes are actualy a purple black spinning thing when zoomed in and in tactical it doesnt look any different then other anomilies.

If you dont like wormholes then youll have to pilot manualy.

Yikes !!!! The double wammy wormhole trips also happened to me...
One of the wormholes was the purple thingy but IIRC, the other was just a normal looking pile of space junk ...??
I always control the Flagship (and any other survey ships) manually now ...
The anomoly color is new to me ... This is why these forums are so useful...
I now think I can attempt to handle the survey mission better !!!!

The solution to the problem is simple: Do not rely on ONE ship to survey anomalies.

Research Sensors early in the game; Sensors enables the Survey module. Once you have Sensors, go into the Shipyard, select a Cargo hull and add three Hyperdrives, two life support and a Survey module. Buy two or three of these ships, then turn them loose on Auto-Survey.

Not only will this reduce the sting of losing a ship through a wormhole, but you'll scoop up 2-3 times as many anomalies as the AI does.
