Three things about 1.three....

Firstoff.... Thankyou ! I have really enjoyed playing all the way through the betas...
I especially appreciate the return to the stability of the 2nd beta, as well as a much improved AI.
I do have three things that are frustrating though...
1st- As documented in other threads, the end of turn does not change the turn button green. Upon reloading a new save game, it was green for the first turn... I got all excited but alas, it never again turned...
2nd- The dreaded blue trapazoid of death in the mini map. I have had it happen three times so far, 2 were in the turn right after a cultual defection and the other the turn after a random event. ( so an so killed leader on such and such... ) Every instability, glitch or crash has happened right after one of these things in every game I've played. Is there a way to turn them off????
3rd- And most frustrating... when I have 4 constructors done and want to use the launch all in orbit under the "dropicons", the game will go to the last one launched and promptly forget about the other three. This means having to either manually launch all of my ships, or fish around the map looking for the little buggers sitting next to their planets. This used to work perfectly, and is new to this incarnation of the game. It really defeats the purpose of launching all ships at once, and was a feature I used ALOT. I am saddened at it's passing.
On the positive side....
I am in a game where all of the weapons types are being utilized, and the Thalens even pulled a fast one and changed up to throw everybody off just like a human player would.
While I still see the occasional retarded placement of planet facilities, overall has been a huge improvement over previous versions. I think in reality although they may seem odd to us, the computer looks at a world and says "I need science", and reguards what it needs over what type of planet and what bonus tiles are there.
I also like ( well, really dislike I should say... ) that the AI no longer sit on their heels and wait. Not only are they more aggressive, but they act like they want something.
Lastly the "un"timely random event that always seems to happen when things get a little stagnant definitely helps to keep you on your toes....
Thankyou all for actually giving a crap about your game !!! I have Civ4 and the C4 expansion pak... and I must say they make very nice paperwieghts....
