Fonts in WindowBlinds5

Help

I have recently purchased the software. Is it normal that every time I change skins that I have to go in and change all the fonts back to my settings. I have a severe visual problem and this has become quite a pain in the you know what. It is too bad that the program doesn't have a screen just for font settings ?

Any help would be appreciated

It seems that the font size issue would be up to the blind designer to change. Have you tried this windowblind to see if it suits your requirements for font size. Clear Blue Link

Perhaps a request for other skinners to incorporate larger font sizes will be taken to heart.

Try saving your Font settings in the regular Windows Display settings as a Theme. After you change Blinds open up your Display Setting and reload your Theme. Keep in mind doing this will also change the Wallpaper. With a bit of work you can organize your wallpapers and use a program like Wallpaper Exchange to get the exact background wallpaper you want. This will solve most of the problems of resetting your font sizes. Any additional font size settings you make in Window Blinds are automatically remembered by WB the next time you start.

I removed the Windowblinds program and the fonts are back to normal. It seems such a shame that a program that is supposed to make it easier to modify your settings, seems to have spent a lot of time on 'eye candy' and the heck with usability.

But then, until one suffers eye damage, people are not aware of difficulties. With so many different settings for screens today, maybe the skins should use existing values and not change them. I changed them and it was fine inside of WindowBlinds but on the next reboot, the settings changed back. And I did change them with the advanced settings. Seems to me there is a fly in the ointment.

If it's font size you are refering too, then you can change the size of the font's through SkinStudio. I noticed you posted in ObjectDesktop, so I'm hoping you are a ODNT subscriber.

Open SkinStudio > In the left hand panel, under the Explorer tab, expand the "Miscellaneous" option > then expand the "Fonts for Classic Widgets" option > then highlight the first font > now once highlighted, in the middle panel, there are three tabs, select the "Code" tab > since you have the first font higlighted you should see "[System Font 0]" in red, this is the first font you will change. To change the size, you will just enter what value you wish the font to be in the "Font Height" line. You can even change the actual font (i.e. Arial > Times New Roman). After you're done with the first [System Font 0] continue on down to "systme font 1-6" or however many there are. Now once you have changed everything, click File > Save As > rename the skin > click ok.

Note: be sure when you change the font height to have the values a negative number (i.e. -10, -12, -13,).

WindowBlinds is not about making settings modification easier, it is about using skins to change the GUI. There are many font settings in SkinStudio ( the program used to create WB skins ) that the authors of the skins use to set fonts the way they want for that given skin.
In WindowBlinds config, user overrides you can set to replace all skin defined fonts with a font of your choice, you can also set to make font bigger in 10% increments, this you would need to adjust per skin when apply.
WindowBlinds skin settings will always, when skin is apllied or at startup/reboot, replaced/override Windows settings.
