ObjectDock Plus regularly crashes on my system

Hi,

ObjectDock Plus regularly crashes on my system (about once a day) without me doing anything. No notification, no error message. Just, I want to use it and it's no longer there. The tray icon is still there as usual when a program displaying a tray icon crashes but it disappears when hovering it with the mouse cursor.

Anyone with similar problems?

Thanks.

I was just about to post the same thing - it seems to happen most often when coming back from screensaver, or from a remote desktop connection, or a locked screen. I come back, Objectdock crashes.

If you disable docklets, does it help?

Is there an easy way to disable all docklets?

Load ObjectDock configuration panel (A.K.A. - Dock Settings) > General category > Advanced Options button > select the check box to disable docklets for troubleshooting.

I've got OD+, and I have some stability issues. I am just using the basic docklets that came with it, nothing fancy, but I do have 3 autohiding docks, one permanently visible, and a tabbed dock. Periodically, I'd say about once every week or two, it crashes. Also, more often, like once a day or two, it hangs or becomes so slow I have to quit & restart it. Finally, and this happens quite a bit, there are some effect problems. For example, my running tasks dock I use the swing effect, and sometimes my icons don't swing (hmm, some social commentary there??). Sometimes they get "stuck" behind the dock background, which when I make semitransparent, I can semi-see the icons.

Anyone see stuff like that?

I have the same problem too and almost every day.

Would someone from Stardock react to this post please?

I think it is strange no one from Stardock is responding to this.

I must say the support from Stardock lately is a little bit disappointing.

I did send Stardock (support@stardock.com) a week ago an e-mail about Control Centre and till today no reaction......

Come Stardock react please!

I just want to add that I stopped crashing regularly when I disabled all my docklets. I'm not sure which is causing it, so I'm re-adding each separately now. I had been using the Calendar Docklet, Clock, MAttery Meter Docklet, Web Search Docket, StartMenu2.1, SysStats, ObjectDock Tray, and Weather Docklet.

Hello,

If you disable docklets, does it help?

No, I have no docklet enabled.

Thanks.

Confirmed. Docklets have been disabled from the Advanced dialog and ObjectDock Plus just crashed again without any warning.

Still no answer from the support at this time.

If I'm saying that the support didn't answer until now, this assumes that I have reported the problem to them . The ticket has been opened 4 days ago and I just received an acknowledgement.

At this pace, and since the crash occurs randomly, I do not expect a solution before long.

Simple fix: buy OD+ !

I've been using OD+ for some time with no problems but.... recently OD crashes everytime I re-boot. I did a clean re-install & it didn't help. The only docklets I'm using are the quit and configure docklets and I've been using them all along.

did you clear the cache?

Please run this file to remove the files that are causing your dock to crash. Be sure to package your theme (found under the settings menu) before running this.
