Media Player glass effect

just a thought . . .

This will sound noobish im sure, but i was wondering if its possible to get the glass effect
in WMP 11, im using the full version of wb5 and my system can definatly handle the glass effect, i'll be grateful for any help

Apparently at this time WMP 11 does not support the glass effect. I have been to several skinning sites looking and there are templates which folks have started, but have been unable to fully develop. The comments always include something like wmp 11 doesn't support transparency.

Which is dumb. The Aero look should be able to go throughout the system. What do I know...I'm not Bill Gates

This may change when vista rolls out come to think about it

thanks for that . . thats a shame, does anyone know if it can be done for interent explorer 7 , again further into the client area than just the taskbar ?(i think thats what its called)however i think it may be the same situation as media player.

I'm not 100% sure, but my guess would be that it is the same thing as media player. I just installed Vista on a second harddrive, and the same download of IE7 on XP and Vista give me two different things (transparent on Vista, and not on XP). So I think its either some .dll's on Vista that enable certain apps to have 'extra' transparency, or something deeper than that.

But as far as I know, this cannot be done on an XP machine.

(some please correct me if I am wrong...)

what is very odd is that I can have a transparent start menu, start bar, context menus in XP with my old video card. Why is it that I can't do a transparent window frame?
