Stardock Central Systray??

What is the purpose of this try and how do I disable it without going into msconfig?  Every time I click on it I get an error message.  Is the purpose to show us how an application can crash every time you click on it.  I have most of the StarDock ObjectDesktop applications installed just fine without any problems, except for WindowsFX, which I posted about on another thread.

Are you referring to sdmcp.exe?

If so, it's required for programs like Object Bar, Object Dock, Right Click and DesktopX to "recreate" the systray. It can be "turned on/off" from the Settings dialog in the Stardock Central Tools menu. Be warned... if you use a systray in any of the mentioned programs it will come up blank with it turned off.

If not, you'll need to be more specific as to what your referring too.

I'm guessing that you are talking about Component Tray :
Component Tray will alert you when there is a new Object Desktop component available, allows you to launch components directly from it, gives easy access to Stardock Central and online information!

You installed this via SDC at some point. Load up SDC, click on object desktop, select Component Tray and then unistall.

Problem solved.

But . . for what it's worth . . SDC and Component Tray are solid pieces of software. THe problem might be with your system. Can you post what error you are getting when it crashes?

I was refering to the sdctray.exe application. For what it is worth, I did find out to not load it at start up. I realize now also how to remove it. I would prefer not to. Being a developer myself, I would prefer to help them fix the problem.

The error is:

sdctray.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. The debug file contains:

I get the crash just from right-clicking on the icon in the sys tray. It is annoying that it doesn't work. However, I must say that I am having random issues with WindowBlinds in general. I paid for ObjectDesktop and I would rather get my moneys worth. As for the rest:

WindowBlinds 5.0 System Information Report:

WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC.

WindowBlinds appears to be activated on this PC

Your machine supports per pixel borders on WindowBlinds skins.

You have one monitor in total.

Wbui.dll 2005/12/06 21:29:06
Tray.dll 2006/04/13 17:29:04

I have:
WindowBlinds 5.01kb.015 (left off the brackets around the b)
IconPackager 3.11.106
IconDeveloper 1.30.022
Object Desktop Launchpad 2.00.008

Enhanced File Dialog 1.00.002
Component Tray 1.41.030
ObjectBar 1.99gb.005 (again, left off the brackets)
WindowFX 3.00.013 (series issues shutting down my system)
SkinStudio Professional 5.01.049

Any help would be greatly appreciated. By the way, is there any way of knowing what the latest version of Stardock Central is? I can't seem to find a version number listed by the download and the tray app I am having trouble with did indicated at least twice that a newer version was available.

OK. The contents of the debug file did not appear like they should have. Hmm. If it is needed, let me know and I can email it to you.

This is Component Tray.

I've never had it crash, though I have had problems with it disappearing from the tray.
