Error Adding Downloaded Skins

I'm having a problem with Windowblinds adding new downloaded skins.

Every time I try to [Add Skin] I get a "Missing Data error" that says "There appears to be no .uis file in this skin. Are you sure it is a WindowBlinds skin?"

Of course it's a WindowBlinds skin. I DL'd it from www.WinCustomize.com.

It would be helpful if you posted a link to the windowblind you are having issues with and does the extension of the download end in .zip or .wba.

I downloaded a bunch of skins from HERE">Link

[link="https://www.wincustomize.com/download.aspx?LibID=31&SkinID=3446"]SilverGlassDX">Link had the extension .dxtheme

[link="https://www.wincustomize.com/download.aspx?LibID=31&SkinID=3444"]DarkAero">Link extension .zip

[link="https://www.wincustomize.com/download.aspx?LibID=31&SkinID=3170"]Basic blue extension .zip

And a lot more. Mostly in .zip, but the zip files had different files in them. Like Basic blue only had one file: Basic blue.dxtheme

DarkAero.zip had a bunch of .bmp's in it

SilverGlassDX had 48 assorted files.

Basic blue only had one file in the .zip: Basic blue.dxtheme.

They were all different. I don't think any of the downloads had .wba extention.

EDIT: Hmmm. The [Insert Web Link] didn't work to well.

Try reading the gallery descriptions before you decide what they are.
Your downloading DesktopX themes and trying to apply them as Windoblinds.

Windowblinds are found here: Window Blinds Link

I went to the link you told me to. Thats the same place I got all of mine. I did find one that said it was a skin and it was a .wba, found here...it's called ArtWork.wba...

ArtWork

But when I clicked the download button it didn't ask me to save, it just downloaded itself and changed everything on it's own. It had to be a theme. It did this without my help, except I did click on the balloon in the tray. The balloons don't stay long enough to read.

And the ones that do work (take over) don't show up in the choices in WindowBlinds. I don't know. Maybe it's because I am using the trial version.

EDIT: I opened WindowBlind again and two of the skins, themes, whatever, showed up in the choices, and they only work per application.

But some of the "skins" that came with it are themes.

Well, I just bought it!   Now we'll see what happens.

Thanx all

EDIT: Do I have to uninstall the trial to install the enhanced?

Do I have to uninstall the trial to install the enhanced?

Yes, you have to uninstall the Trial version before installing the full version. Make sure you reboot both after uninstalling the Trial version and after installing the Full purchased version.

HINT: If you are using Win XP SP-2, when you download a WB skin, it most always change the file extension to ".zip". You can change the file extension to ".wba" either: 1) in the Download Manager dialog, or 2) after you download the file. The way I found most useful is to right-click on the "Download" button and choose, "Save Target as". That way you can easily change the file extension from ".zip" to ".wba" in the Download Manager dialog and choose a temp folder to download it to. Then you can install the skin by either: 1) double-clicking on the xxxx.wba file or 2) use the WB configuration window's "Add skin" feature.

Lastly, if the newly added skin doesn't appear in the "Preview" thumbnails, click on the "Rebuild List" button.

YEAH!

I'm havin a blast! I've downloaded about a hundred so far.

Most of them where .wba's, and they just downloaded themselves, and gave me the option to use it now or pick later. I've been trying them all as I download them. Gotta stop for awhile. I can barely see now.

Thanx again all, it was worth 20 bucks.
