Desktop icon won't change

from Stardock Forums


I have a desktop icon, but it doesn't show up in the Save As dialog.

Can anyone help?

This also happens with the folder icons that aren't specific.

This is common and not an issue with IconPackager or the theme. I am not a coder, but I am sure that the developer would have fixed this in the past if it was possible.

I do not use the Enhanced Dialog program, but it may allow this to be changed.

I was just wondering the same thing, when you use a stardock program and open anything it is changed, but any other program it still the default one......???????

I have noticed this happen before myself, but sometimes it takes a while for all the changes to effect on every program. If you shut down, and then restart, sometimes that fixes the problem too.   Hope that helps.

Does anyone know how to fixed this? I have tried several different methods and none of them work! grrrrrrrrr

Bumping this topic as I have the same problem, however all the folders and such within the dialog are also XP default and not my custom icons.



As pointed out by the red outlined icons, they should be custom ones, not the default XP ones (it seems the only icons that DO change are the ones I changed from the Properties>Icons option from the right click on the files)
