Need help with game, tried everything...

Several months ago I had a problem with installing the latest patch which whom I couldn't remember but it kept asking for my serial key to register or some sort. I put it in. It says you must register even though I did and it was correct.

I own a legitimate retail copy, and I tried those months ago accessing Stardock support forums and everything else, even here but everything toke FOREVER to load in my browser and it kept getting like that code message and such....

So I want this problem recorrected so I can play the game I bought for 50:00$ whatever tax and I refuse to go back to Stardock's Support links or any of that trash because of those nightmares.

Sorry to bring this into the completely wrong forum, just help me...
I could go into detail with my problem if it is really required, but I am guessing I just need a new serial overall...

It really is--we can't help if we don't know what exactly is wrong!

Well, stardock's forums were pretty slammed when the game first came out. They got FAR more response than they had anticipated and sold many more copies than they realized they were going to. They have upgraded their hardware to handle the traffic and the forums seem a lot better now than they were. You might try their support links again, but even if you don't, hopefully a stardock rep will see your post in the forums and be able to help you out.

Does your code begin with GC2-? if so, it's the wrong one. If you refuse to use support, then frankly having playing issues is your own fault.

Also: feel free to go on the IRC to get things fixed. irc.stardock.com #galciv

I dont know what to tell you thats usually what i do but did you go to control panel then add or remove programs then you click and erase all things related to GalCiv2

removing all game components, and patch files is probably the best bet...start over with a fresh installation, and then download and install the patch you want...then re-run the game at which point you will be ask to re-enter your serial # from the front of the jewel case the cd's came in...If this does not work than you have no choice but to contact stardock...most likely for a new disc although they may let you download directly from the website.

PS in the last couple of months stardock has come along way with speeding things up on their site.
