wbocx.ocx and adware.dap antivirus problem

wbocx.ocx is unregistered by symantec antivirus because adware.dap is recognized as adware and is removed

Hello,
we use wbocx.ocx for the skinning of our application.
At some customers the COM registration of this ocx was sometimes removed.

Now we found that the problem is related to antivirus software of symantec which removes the adware.dap and also kill the registration of the wbocx.ocx with this removal.

If we reregister the component with "regsvr32 wbocx.ocx" again the system works until the next removal against happens and the registration is also.

Did somebody had the same problem with this symantec antivirus and wbocx.ocx?
Is they is really a virus on such machines or is the wbocx.ocx recognized as ad-ware and is wrongly removed?

Paul.

It will be a bug in the antivirus software.

WBOCX.OCX is not spyware / adware and never has been.  It is simply the DirectSkin ocx control.

Download Accelerator Pro is one of the many apps which use DirectSkin and I believe some versions of that app (the free version I think) do have some sort of adware, but wbocx.ocx is no more involved than say mfc42.dll or user32.dll.

What version of the antivirus software is causing the problem?
