Changing font size doesn't actually change anything

How do I change the icon fonts?

I just purchased ObjectDock Plus recently, and I like it so far, but I've been having some problems customizing it.

The biggest problem is that I'm trying to adjust the font size to something that fits with the icons better, so they can display more characters. I go into the General Configuration, Advanced Options and am trying to tinker with those settings, but nothing I change it to actually shows up, even after restarting the PC. The setting that I change it to actually holds, but the appearance of the icons don't change at all (its stuck with the default font).

I also have a relatively minor problem -- sometimes the position of the dock that I placed at the bottom of the screen gets 'screwed up'. It's like it thinks it is at the bottom, and I can't lower it, but its actually moved higher (This is when I have the standard windows task bar hidden). If the taskbar isn't hidden, I haven't seen this actually happen (I'm not sure if the bug doesn't occur at all, only that I have yet to see it happen). If I reboot, then its back to normal.

One other problem I just noticed, that's very odd. Sometimes I need to close certain applications in my tray. For the most part, I'm able to do that without any problems (it's usually actually easier to do it with ObjectDock, than the windows tray). However, (and this will sound really odd, like its a joke, but I'm totally serious) I was trying to close, I think it was either some software for my Kodak digital camera or for my HP printer (I cant' recall which), but the icon for it simply would 'jump' to the right preventing me from clicking on it, and when I tried to click on it again, it would jump back to the left (it's like this ancient joke software I remember from many many years ago). It was just totally bizarre. I ended up having to restore the task bar and using the windows tray itself to close the program.

The only thing this setting changes is the font for the text that appears if you hover over the icon. All other font settings (eg tabs, icons etc) are not configurable - although it's been much requested. Maybe it'll happen in a future update.

Under the 'Positioning' dialog you need to untick "Automatic Distance From Edge" and set the slider to the distance you do want. Seems like even if the Windows taskbar is hidden, OD still tries to adjust it's position to where it would be if the taskbar was visible.

For the 'Jumping Icon' problem, sorry - no idea!

Thanks! I was adding some of my most used URLs, and shortcuts to related programs and frequently used directories on my harddrive, so many the icons looked basically the same (for example, for packages that have related programs, all using the same exact icon)-- that's why I decided to have the names showing all the time. I already got rid of text like 'shortcut to', and still I cant' get rid of the ambiguities, if I'm going to make good use of this product. Right now, I suppose, its still easier for me to bring up the start menu because of this limitation 8-(. Darn it! Maybe I can't get rid of some of my icons on my desktop after all (I was trying to clean up -- my PC desktop is about as messy now as my real desktop).

Umm, I don't have that option on my Positioning dialog at all... I only have the following options:
"Show Dock as Drawer", "Mouseover Activation" (also has a slider slow to fast), "Tabs always on Top" (with the suboptions "Don't show in tray or taskbar", "Show in taskbar", "Show in system tray"), and "Reserve edge or screen". That last one sounds like what you might be talking about, except that its already unchecked and has no slider associated with it.

Well if it happens again, I'll have to deal with it. Fortunately I don't shut down that stuff all the time (only when I run this one memory-intensive game I play -- I was told that it conflicts with my HP software, but I had other problems, so I started unloading everything that's non-essential).
