Need help Un-skinning choice applications

Hi, I have been using Windows Blinds for about a month now and I love it. Currently I am using dark theme and I am having a few issues with it. The first is that I cant really use photoshop to well. The program does not react well with the dark skin and makes things impossible to read. My second issue is with Fire Fox. I am all about the eye candy so I like to use themes. Unfortunatly I cannot use any of the themes for firefox because they dont work with a dark theme.

I was told by a person once that you could exclude programs from being themed however I was not told how. I looked at the Windows Blinds Advanced Config and found the only thing that I would see applying to unskinning would be the Per Application choice. I clicked on Add Per Application Setting and directed to firefox. I then chose the total exclusion setting "Ignore this application and do not skin it". I then clicked on apply changes and restarted firefox.

Sadly this seemed to do absolutly nothing. The same goes for Photoshop so I am not exactly sure what I should do. If anyone could help or give any advise I would be very gratefull. Thanks

You might try rebooting the computer. Sometimes WindowBlinds will not apply changes until reboot (perhaps due to files in use).

If that does not work, you might try changing the skin and applying the changes, then revert back to the dark skin.

Note - I have not used the shareware version for more than two years, so if you are, there is a chance that the shareware version is limited and does not allow 'per application' exclusions - not sure on that one.

I just tryed some of the things you suggested and no results. I rebooted my comp and swiched skins around a little. I am not using the shareware version either. And now for some odd reason my start bar is not skinning....it is a darker color then normal however it is not themed. Still need help if anyoneknows how to fix my problem (or my new start bar one).

Well a few new things to report, I got my start bar to work again by reinstalling the program. As for what you said Bichur I assume you mean Windows BLinds by "WB" and when I open the Windows Blinds Config I dont see anything about system infomation. I am using WindowBlinds Enhanced v4.5 if that helps any of you with helping me .

Yes, system info is in WB5.

4.5? enhanced? didn't know it was still available. It's gotta be real old.
4.60.048 was released 8/8/2005. This is also known as Window Blinds Classic for those not running XP.

What do the more Updated Windows blinds offer? Possibly this is why the Per Application setting is not working? The skin I am using at the moment GT3wb5, says in title wb5 which I assume stands for windows blinds 5 but it still works with my version. I thought that mabye thats why the per application setting was not working but I also tryed it with some of the skins that came with it such as DogmaX and Iskin. GT3wb5 is a slightly lighter skin then what I was using before so it works for photoshop but still no luck with FireFox. Any idea on steps I can take from her?

WB5 has per pixel alpha transparency

You can always recolor the parts of skins to suit via skin studio.

Firefox only picks up parts since it has it's own skinning.

Okay, this may be a dumb question.

Are you going to the "C:\Program Files\SOFTWARE COMPANY\PROGRAM\PROGRAM.EXE" file to select the program you want to exclude?

I do not run Firefox, but I do know the Photoshop selection should work.

Ya, I direct to the .exe fine just doesn't work =/. Possibly the version I have just has something wrong with it. I mean if it works for you there should be no reason it wont work for me. If I am going to buy a new version I might as well get the newest heh. what is the newest version of windows blids at the moment?

Exclusion should work perfectly in WB 4.5.  The systemwide colour scheme will still be applied to any excluded apps though, as thats a systemwide setting that cannot be disabled on a per application basis.

You can edit the skin colours using SkinStudio.

The current version of WB is 5.01.
