Do you know what widget it is?

Hmmmm, I went in and removed “fishy” and no longer had the problem. I downloaded it again (I like “Fishy”), and it will not load. I’m back to the same problem. Any ideas how I can make “fishy work?

Not sure. Have you tried clearing the widget cache?

I cleaned the cache, but didn’t know there was a widget cache. Where would I find it and how do I clean it?

Look in:
C:\Documents and Settings\*Owner*\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock\DesktopX

where *owner* is you

it actually says WidgetCache

or - in case your unlucky like me and have no Stardock folder in the application data
Then go this route:

To locate widget cache . Tun on DesktopX > Welcome Screen > Load Widgets >Options > Clear widget cache ( or view widget cache if you only want to delete that one specific widgets cache ) delete widget , then close folder .

Hey Fairyy~, when you click 'view widgets cache' what's the path in the address bar?

oddly enough :

C:\Documents and Settings\Karen\Application Data\Stardock\DesktopX\WidgetCache

But yet - when I try to get there the other way - It ends at application data. Remember on other thread I showed the pathway in a screen shot- I guess its just one of those mysteries.

You know Bichur - just you asking me to do this has now fixed the problem. Im not sure why or how exactly . But when you asked me to show you the path in the address bar I couldnt at first because there wasnt an address bar - I had to add it - now when I follow the pathway it no longer ends with only one folder in the application data. I dont know why this would have fixed it but im not looking a gift horse in the mouth.
I worked on that for 2 days trying to figure it out.

possibly a bad download/install.
uninstall, reboot.
If you don't have Stardock Central get it and use it to download/install.
