Battles not always displayed

Hi all,

i have a very annoying problem using version 1.2.
Often when i am attacked or i attack in fleet to fleet combat or single fighters the battle screen is not initiated, but like if we would still have 1985 the battle takes only place on the main map as icons.
this is even worser as i dont get any information window and thus can not check how good my ships performed.
this is in like 50% of the battles the case. the others are initiated right, it switches to "full battle" and i can watch.

am i the only one with this problem ?

My first suggestion would be to look to make sure that you have the right options checked for when to show fleet battles. The various options are in the interface tab of the options screen.

If that's not the problem though someone else will need to help you.

It is most likely the options selections that Linthar mentioned.

One of the options is "show full battles only if fleet vs fleet combat". This means if either side in a battle is a single ship, full battles are not shown.

i get this prob sometimes.... but only in planet to ship/fleet encounters... whenever a fleet attacks a single ship, i dotn see the viewer, but when two ships or two fleets collide, i get the action... though some games have had random picking on what battles are and are not shown..

hi thanks for the sugestions.
i turned all options regarding battledisplay on, but "show full battles only if fleet vs fleet combat" was not on. i didnt understood it right first.

i will check if it is ok now and report tomorrow if i still encounter problems, because as gandron also states, im quite sure that the effect was also sometimes when fleets were involved.


regarding attack of planets, do i understand right that a full fleet battle will only be displayed when a "fleet manager" is installed on the planet ?
